Clair Thomas

Senior Operations Manager

Clair Thomas is a Senior Operations Manager at TW Composting. Clair has worked in the waste and resources industry for 17 years, undertaking a variety of roles from hands-on operations to commercial development and now looks after a number of our sites.

Outside of work, Clair enjoys travelling and recently fulfilled a lifetime ambition to play Mario Kart in Tokyo, earning the derision respect of her family for coming first in most of the races despite a complete inability to understand Japanese and lots of random button pressing and hoping for the best.

Jon Hillyard

Development Manager

I have 15 years’ experience in Waste and recycling with a BSC (Hons) degree in Environmental Management, and HND in Countryside Management (amongst lots of other hazardous qualifications, some including the word ‘Sludge’). Outside of work I help on my family’s farm, when time allows!

I am married with two gorgeous children and a dog called Tommy. I love everything to do with farming and have my very own set of ‘Hot Wheels’ a 1949 Ford ‘son’ Made by Henry Ford’s Son! (ok it’s a Tractor)

I love music and my favourite bands range from Oasis to Foo Fighters

Ian Morrish

Hi, my name is Ian, and I am the MD at TW. I have over 15 years’ experience working in the waste industry – that’s a lot of waste! In August I am ‘tying the knot’ with my beautiful Joanna, in Poland. Behind every good man and all that!

Ask any of my work family, and they will tell you I am a car speed ‘freak’ The faster the better!

I also love sport – Rugby to be more precise. Meet the Exeter Chiefs Mascot ‘Big Chief’ (no it isn’t me! Or is it?)

Andy Harrington

SHEQ Manager

Hi! My name is Andy. I am the SHEQ Manager for TW Composting. I have been in the Waste and Recycling Industry for more years than I would like to admit!

I am married with two teenage children, a 16-year-old son and a 14-year-old daughter, so I don’t have much free time! When I do, I enjoy walking and cycling, and recently undertook a 60-mile bike ride for a charity that my wife supports. I was joined on this ‘marathon’ by my lovely wife, my daughter and my 72-year-old father!

I am a keen guitarist and have about 11 ‘things with strings’! I enjoy going to gigs and festivals, and have always dragged the family along, whether they like it or not! The most recent big name that we have seen was Muse, for the 4th time! They were amazing, as always.

Dave Cox

Operations Manager

Hi, I’m Dave and I have been in the industry for 10 years, before that I was a landscape Gardener. I am happily married with three lovely children.

My next love is Rugby. I have been playing Rugby for around 20 years. I currently play for Northampton Outlaws, where I play Inside Centre, before this I played for Daventry All Blacks for many years.

Outside of work I am a bit of an adrenalin Junkie! I have done everything from bungee jumping to zip wires to Sky diving and Wolf Runs! I also love boxing and have done a Charity Boxing match for Teenage Cancer Trust & my Sky Dive was for Whizz kids’ charity.

I am a big family man, and nothing is more important to me that spending time with mine.

I love going to the Gym & also listening (and whistling very badly – ask the office team!) to all and any music!

Craig Capper

Chesterfield Operations Manager

Hi, my name is Craig. I have over two decades within the waste and recycling business from Landfill to Open Windrow and In Vessel Composting.

Having had to retire from football, old age and a few knee operations, my downtime is now spent exploring the Yorkshire countryside with my two beagle dogs, sorry and the wife. We decided to buy a caravan, or if you are young it’s just the VAN, and have visited some beautiful places and are looking forward up upgrading the VAN for a motorhome and travelling around Europe in the near future.

I was brought up in the blue half of Sheffield, and the family have season tickets for Sheffield Wednesday, today it’s more of a social event however one day we may find ourselves back in the Premier League???

Steve Hansen

Operations Manager – Corby Site

Outside of work, my time is spent with my family. I am Married, with 3 children, two boys and a beautiful Girl. Our Dog Rufus completes our family!

Like my colleague Jon, I also love anything to do with machinery especially Tractors! I love Santa Pod, and go as much as I can. I have a quad, that I go out on whenever the British Summertime allows me!

I enjoy listening to music to relax, anything from old to modern!

Hello! My name is Jo, and I work for TW Composting as the Team Assistant, looking after Operational, SHEQ & Development Managers (and everyone else!). I have been with the company for 5 months. I enjoy my job because every day is different. TW hold values that are important to me, honesty, integrity & fairness to name a few. I also get to work with some handsome beasts! Meet Larry…

When I’m not at work, I enjoy spending time with my son. We are in the process of rebuilding a mini that is older than him! When I’m not in the garage, I love exploring the countryside with my dog Rocky. We also have a Bearded Dragon – Bob. He likes cars too!
